The Club
Wildhorse Cycling Club was founded in 2011 to bring together cyclists of all disciplines in Cranbrook, BC. The club is a non profit society registered with the Province of BC, and also a registered club with IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) Canada.
Mission Statement
Improve the Collective Cycling Community in Cranbrook and area
Other goals of the club include
- To encourage participation in recreational and competitive cycling to people of all ages and abilities
- To promote responsible biking practices
- Collaborate with other user groups
- To organize volunteers to aid in the restoration, development and maintenance of biking trail systems and areas including skill parks
- To participate in the planning process for, and the management of recreational land as it relates to mountain bike access and use
- To advocate that bike access and trail coordination becomes an integral part of the recreation philosophy and planning in Cranbrook
- To educate users on:
- Bike safety
- Bike practices that minimize user conflicts, trail damage and ecological impact
- Building and maintenance
- To bring all cycling disciplines together as one community to increase our voice
- To educate cyclists and preserve and improve bicycling opportunities in Cranbrook and area
